One day, he and his partner Ben are on their submarine doing research on a lost ancient city that was said to lie at the bottom of the ocean. While underwater, someone sinks their submarine, but the two are saved by the nuclear submarine Nautilus.Rickey and Ben do not like the arrogant attitude of Nemo, the captain of the Nautilus, but once they learn that Nemo and his crew are also searching for the ancient city, the two decide to go with them. When they finally get to the ancient city, they witness horrible human experiments carried out by the Gabian Empire and find themselves embroiled in a conspiracy. When it was first broadcast, Kaitei Daisensou was covered extensively in animation magazines and other media.
