Synopsis

MEZZO, Mezzo DSATokyo in the not-so-distant future has experienced technological advancement, including the implementation of hydrogen fuel cells and humanoid robots. Despite these advancements, the city is in a chaotic state due to rampant crime. This is the environment in which the Danger Service Agency (DSA) works; this team of three takes on dangerous jobs regardless of legality.Mikura Suzuki is the only female member. A master in Shorinji Kempo and skilled with firearms, she deeply respects Bruce Lee. Tomohisa Harada is responsible for the scientific and technological stuff. Though he has a funky look, he is a clearheaded guy. And lastly, there is Kenichi Kurokawa. He used to be a detective in the Metrololitan Police Department but was fired because of a certain case. The nature of their work forces the members to risk their lives every day. One day, they stumble upon Asami Igarashi, a sixth grader who is being bullied. The little girl grows fond of the DSA.Initially, the members did not intend to take on any missions that could get them killed. However, they end up confronting organized crime groups and risking their lives to solve various cases together when they, for example, protect clients from indiscriminate killers, and transport mummies with diamonds embedded in them.Mezzo DSA was aired from January 2004 (13 episodes in total). It was produced as a sequel to the adult animation series Mezzo Forte and was the first ever adult animation sequel to be aired on terrestrial TV as a regular series. It has been adapted into a novel and comic but not on a commercial scale.
