Synopsis

Booska! Booska! Set it the 1960s, Daisuke Tonda, a boy who loves inventing things, uses “kuropara,” one of his inventions, on his pet iguana to turn it into a monster, but the experiment fails. The resulting creature is Booska, a cheerful beast with an amusing character that looks too comical to be called a monster. Daisaku grows through his encounter with Booska, eventually traveling into space. Then, just before the turn of the 21st century, Yusaku Tonda, Daisaku’s son, tries to use “kuropara” with the completely opposite intention than his father: to create a superhero. However, the experiment fails again. Thus a new creature, the second Booska is born. This mischievous and gluttonous Booska makes friends with Yusaku and others around him, leading a life full of fun and excitement. While being caught up in various weird incidents and situations caused by Saien Matsudo, an eccentric inventor, and a fellow cheerful beast named Kamosuke, Booska uses his mysterious supernatural powers to keep bringing smiles to his dearest friends, just as the first Booska did before him.Booska! Booska! is a tokusatsu TV series produced by Tsuburaya Productions, airing on the TV Tokyo network from October 1999 to June 2000. It was intended as a kind of future-set sequel to Kaiju Booska, a TV series featuring a comical creature that was produced by the Ultra Series team in 1966. Since the conclusion of the series, Booksa has appeared in Ultra Series entries and other shows as a guest and a navigator.
