It was created by Shotaro Ishinomori. Ishinomori’s eldest son, Joe Onodera, appears as one of the child characters in the series. The screenplay was written by Shozo Uehara and Susumu Takaku, who wrote the scripts for numerous robot and superhero series in the 1970s onwards.
