Synopsis
Buruu Suwatto, Blue SWATThe Space Mafia, an intergalactic crime syndicate of aliens that plot to conquer Earth, has begun to take actions to enslave earthlings by conducting secret experiments on humans. To combat the aliens, a secret organization supported by the United Nations, Blue SWAT, is established. Subsequently, a member of now active Blue SWAT is possessed by an alien having the “invading” ability and controlled like a puppet, resulting in the organization being internally collapsed. After barely surviving, Sho Narumi and Sara Misugi launch a dummy corporate named Blue Research with Sig, an ex-member of the Space SWAT, the space organization to crack down on crimes by aliens. Sig gives a special gear designed to protect from aliens to Sho and Sara, and two civilian operators Seiji Usami and Sumire Asou join as support members. Thus, the Blue SWAT makes a comeback to fight secretly to protect Earth from threats posed by the aliens.Blue SWAT is the 13th installment in the tokusatsu (meaning a live-action drama using many special effects) Metal Hero drama series franchise created by Toei and aired from 1994 to 1995 on the TV Asahi network. Among the Metal Hero series, Blue SWAT was especially created by highlighting a realistic touch, featuring the image of realistic heroes like actual SWAT members wearing a reinforced armor, instead of the image of those transforming into heroes. For this reason, the members’ costume are also not distinguished by color in this series. The characters of Blue SWAT appeared again in the special episodes of the next Metal Hero series Juukou B-Fighter, together with the characters of the previous series Tokusou Robo Janperson. This co-starring pleased the fans.
