Synopsis Kikku no Oni、 Demon of the KickTadashi Sawamura is the invincible champion of the junior karate world、 holding a record of 60 consecutive victories. Also known by the name Karate Sanshiro、 Sawarmura rises to stardom in the junior karate world.Around that time、 Noguchi Osamu、 president of Noguchi Gym、 was trying to spread Muay Thai in Japan. Recognizing Sawarmura's gifted spring abilities、 Noguchi challenges him to participate in a Muay Thai tournament. Sawamura manages to win the first of the cross-style fights、 but is no match for Adisorn、 the Muay Thai lightweight champion、 suffering a major defeat.Having experienced the power of Muay Thai first hand、 Sawamura joins Noguchi Gym、 becomes the disciple of Noguchi、 who was captivated by Saramura's passion and talent、 and enters the world of kickboxing. This series、 as well as the original manga、 was developed based on part of life of Tadashi Sawamura、 an actual professional kickboxing champion、 making it a kind of documentary with fiction. The series features reenactments of actual kickboxing fights where Sawamura used his special moves、 such as the Aerial Knee Kick、 Flying Drop Roundhouse Kick、 and Vertical Double Kick 、 as well as fictional training scenes. The series is a rare example of a kickboxing animation with many elements of documentary. The theme songs Kikku no Oni and Kikku no Akebono were sung by Tadashi Sawamura himself、 and a record with him singing the songs with Shonen Shojo Gasshodan Mizuumi (Mizuumi Boys & Girls Chorus) was released from Toshiba Records.
