Kureyon Shin-chanShinnosuke Nohara、 living in Kasukabe City、 Saitama、 Japan、 is a five-year-old boy who is happy-go-lucky and always at his own pace. His parents and kindergarten friends call him “Shin-chan.”Shinnosuke is living with his parents and then his sister、 Himawari、 is newly born in the cartoon. The story is a home situation comedy with self-contained episode around him and his family.Each episode is revolved around Nohara family’s daily life and affairs at kindergarten which Shinnosuke attends、 staging funny every day of naughty、 troublesome Shinnosuke、 his family and friends.A lot of parodies of animations and cartoons are imported into the story、 such as characters in Dragon Ball、 which Shinnosuke is sometimes copying and “Action Mask、” a hero in a play in the cartoon、 which is a homage for Masked Rider.As Kureyon Shin-chan was originally published in MANGA Action、 a magazine targeted at young adults、 all the stories are made up of gags based on children’s behavior which is annoying their parents. In early times of the series、 many words tailored for the age were used、 such as “cabaret” and “play-wrestling” as gags using direct sexual expression.Shinnosuke、 a hero boy of the story、 was adopted in October 2003 as an image character of Kasukabe City、 Saitama、 which is the place of the story、 and he and his parents were registered as citizens.He was also chosen as Special supporter of Saitama child rearing、 Character for child rearing supporter and City guide of Kasukabe City、 contributing to promotion of the city.
