Dragon Quest Yusha Abel Densetsu、 Dragon Quest: Legend of the Hero AbelEstark、 an ancient capital of people who once contrived world domination、 was sunk in polluted water named the Water of Death. But one day、 the great demon Baramos is born from evil grudges held by the capital’s people.On the night of the Day of Dragon、 when the red moon shines、 Abel、 a descendant of the hero of gods who protects the Blue Jewel、 and his childhood friend Tiala、 a descendant of the saint who protects the Red Jewel、 find an ancient stone slab associated with the legends of the dragon at the bottom of the Lake of Dragon God near their hometown、 Aliahan.Then Abel and Tiala learn that they have a lineage related to the resurrection of the dragon. But immediately after that、 Baramos、 who seeks for the blood of the dragon granting eternal life、 attacks them and kidnaps Tiala、 who is a key person in reawakening the dragon.Abel embarks on a quest to save Tiala and stop Baramos’ ambitions、 with allies like wizard Yanack and girl warrior Daisy.This anime series、 produced based on the role-playing video game series、 Dragon Quest、 which was released by Enix in 1986 and is even today hugely popular both in and outside Japan、 incorporates many elements to entertain the game fans、 for example、 by using the same terms as in the game everywhere in the story and displaying character introduction with the similar design to the game screen for every episode.This series aired on the Fuji Television network from 1989 to 1990、 produced by Studio Comet、 with characters draft by Akira Toriyama、 who is known for his popular series Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball.
