Hangurii haato、 Hungry Heart: Wild Striker Kyosuke Kano、 a student at Akanegaoka High School、 has an older brother Seisuke、 who is a world-class football genius. Although Kyosuke also loves football and plays well as a striker、 he has an inferiority complex by comparing himself to his brilliant brother and loses motivation for football he once loved. He gets involved in fights every day.One day、 Kyosuke meets Miki Tsujiwaki、 a women's football team player who acknowledges Kyosuke’s talent、 and Kazuto Mori、 a manager of the men’s football team. Thanks to their support、 Kyosuke’s passion for football begins to return.Meeting and befriending the football team members gradually changes Kyosuke. While sometimes conflicting each other、 Kyosuke and his team members、 who share the same goal、 strengthen their bonds. With the support of many people including Seisuke、 Kyosuke finds out his new identity as a football striker and grows up remarkably as a player and a person. Kyosuke is a little awkward around Miki、 who has saved him、 but gradually finds himself falling in love with her.Hungry Heart: Wild Striker was created by Nippon Animation and aired on Animax and the Fuji Television network from 2002 to 2003. It is based on a manga series by Yoichi Takahshi、 who is famous for his many popular sports series including Captain Tsubasa. This original manga starring a football striker was serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion from 2002 to 2004.
