Jotei (Super Queen) Ayaka Tachibana is an outstanding student at school、 but she also helps out at the bar run by her mother、 Mariko. However、 Mariko is taken ill、 and the bar gets caught up in a devious plot and is forced to close its doors. Unable to pay her medical bills、 Mariko passes away. After losing her only family、 Ayaka decides to one day become the jotei (empress) of the hostess industry、 determined to get her own back on those who ruined her mother’s bar and to get her revenge on her father for having abandoned them. She leaves her hometown alone and joins “Elegance、” a luxury hostess club in Osaka’s Minami district、 where she eventually rises to No. 2 amid the jealousy and machinations of the other hostesses. Then、 with the help of one of her customers、 Ayaka moves to a luxury hostess club called “Aman” in Ginza、 and later establishes herself as the No. 1 hostess at another club、 Sawa. At Sawa she meets Yuichiro Ogami、 her father and the Secretary-General of the Minsei Party、 and prepares to get her revenge. However、 Ogami tells her about the beginning of his relationship with Mariko、 and that Mariko left him for the sake of his political career. Learning the truth、 Ayaka bursts into tears. Ayaka tells Ogami that she is his daughter、 and they are at last reconciled. After many twists and turns、 Ayaka finally becomes independent by opening her own club.Jotei is a TV series based on the manga Jotei: SUPER QUEEN、 which was written by Ryo Kurashina and illustrated by Issaku Wake. The series aired on the TV Asahi network from July 13 to September 14、 2007. The screenplay was written by Naoya Takayama、 who is known for works such as Kasoken no Onna and Tokumei Kakaricho Tadano Jin、 as well as Shizuka Ohki and Reiko Yoshida. Ayaka was played by Rosa Kato、 a popular fashion model. It was her first leading role in a TV series.
