Redman Redman is a peace-loving warrior from Planet Red in the Red Nebula. He uses his powerful martial arts skills to combat monsters that have appeared throughout the city、 successfully defeating them.Then、 Redman confronts new monsters that appear before him yet again. Shouting “Red Fight!” out loud、 he fights and vanquishes many monsters.Redman is a tokusatsu TV series produced by Tsuburaya Productions、 airing on the Nippon TV network in April through October 1972. Similar to Ultra Fight in the Ultra Series、 Redman is made up of five-minute episodes featuring martial arts fights between the superhero and monsters、 many of them being from other Tsuburaya Production shows. Each episode ran for around five minutes、 as a special segment of the Ohayo! Kodomo Show that was popular at the time.Redman was unusual among Tsuburaya Productions’ tokusatsu superhero series for the extremely aggressive behavior of the superhero. The bellicose Redman actively seeks out and attacks monsters that have appeared in town、 sometimes even when they have not done anything wrong. This unprecedentedly aggressive style of combat garnered a lot of attention. Many monsters from Return of Ultraman appeared in the show. Redman gained popularity after its re-airing on Tsuburaya Productions’ official YouTube channel in 2016. Later、 in November 2017、 Phase Six、 which has produced many American comic series such as Godzilla、 announced the release of a comic adaptation of Redman. The comic was released the following year、 generating a buzz.
