Senyaichiya Monogatari: Bijo no Nokoshita Sutoroberi Kisu no HanashiThis is an original version of a story like one from the Arabian Nights、 rather than a story animation.A “woman who sells floral kisses” appears in Baghdad. Men who are kissed by her lose all interest in their jewels and valuable objects、 which are simply left on the streets all around the town. The “woman who sells kisses” can take as many jewels as she wants. Bandits Ali and Baba come to take what they can from the woman’s spoils. This mysterious story spreads and eventually reaches the palace.In the palace、 the queen wants to get the attention of her husband、 who shows no interest in her and only treasures his jewels. That is when she hears rumors about the “woman who sells floral kisses.” The queen summons the woman to the palace and asks the woman to make the king wake up to love so that he will love her again. The woman、 laying her eyes on the queen’s jewels、 naturally agrees to do so. Using her kissing skills、 the woman succeeds in making the king love the queen. Completing her task、 the woman takes the palace’s jewels and gets on her way. But once the queen gets the king’s love、 she decides that she wants to hold on to her jewels after all and sends men to pursue the woman. When the woman approaches the sea、 she transforms into a giant octopus and escapes into the water with the jewels.The story keeps on developing、 making this very curious work more like a music clip than a narrative story.Note that this work and Osamu Tezuka’s Senyaichiya Monogatari (A Thousand and One Nights) are two different things.
