Synopsis Time BokanDr. Kieta、 who was doing a test run of a beetle-shaped time machine、 Time Bokan、 goes missing while traveling through time、 and only the unmanned Time Bokan and a parrot、 Perasuke、 which came from the prehistoric period、 return to the laboratory. Tanpei、 Dr. Kieta’s lab assistant、 gets onto Time Bokan I、 a.k.a. Time Mechabuton、 with Dr. Kieta’s granddaughter、 Junko、 and goes on a trip to find Dr. Kida’s whereabouts with clues from Perasuke、 and a gemstone named the Dynamond、 which holds incredible power.During the journey searching for Dr. Kieta、 three villains、 Majo、 Grocky、 and Warusa、 who have designs on the Dynamond、 often block the way. Majo and her henchmen drive Tanpei and Time Bokan into a corner in each episode through the appearance of Time Skull、 a remodeled version of Time Bokan which was stolen from Dr. Kieta、 and a “mechanimal” which uses various animals and specters as a motif. However these machines are blown up in a final strike by weapons that Tanpei and others possess、 and they flee in defeat. In the latter half of the story、 Tanpei and his companions rescue Dr. Kieta、 but the Dynamond、 that was first obtained through a battle with Majo and her henchmen、 is then lost. Later、 new time machines、 Time Bokan II、 a.k.a. Time Dotabattan、 and Time Bokan III、 a.k.a. Time Kuwagattan、 are developed by Dr. Kieta、 and they embark on a new journey to a different era in order to stop a plot by Majo and her henchmen who have designs on the Dynamond. The explosion scene called Highlight of the week、 which starts with the defeat of Majo and her henchmen、 was especially popular with viewers. It passed to the subsequent work、 Climax of the week in Rescueman、 and produced a classic pathway through Tatsunoko Production’s anime.
