Synopsis Gowappa 5 Godamu、 Gowappa 5 Godam A group known as the Gowappa 5、 made up of Yoko Misaki、 the group leader、 and her friends Go Tsunami、 Daikichi Kameyama、 Goemon Koishikawa、 and Norisuke Kawaguchi、 go on an adventure to the uninhabited island of Kigan. In a cave on the island、 they meet Sentaro Shima、 an investigator for an international organization.Just when this was happening、 a mysterious phenomenon occurred on Earth、 leading to the launch of Emperor Jigokuda's secret plan to conquer humankind with his underground demons.Knowing of the existence of the underworld empire、 Dr. Oarai had built a gigantic robot called Godam、 to which he transplanted his own thoughts、 in the island.Praising the young girl and boys for getting to the island、 Oarai decided to appoint them as Godam's pilots.After that、 the group start training on the five vehicles that are combined with Godam in order to improve their skills in operating Godam.During their training、 a mysterious fissure and explosion occur at an industrial complex、 and the underground demons start their invasion of Earth.Dr. Oarai orders the Gowappa 5 to attack the invaders、 and the group get on Godam and are embroiled in a fierce war with the underground demons.After many battles、 the Gowappa 5 and Godam engage in the final battle with Emperor Jigokuda、 who has appeared at last、 and defeat him.After the final battle、 Godam submerges into the waters of Kigan Island to go into slumber before the eyes of the members of the Gowappa 5、 and peace is restored to the world.At the time、 it was rare for the protagonist of a robot anime series to be a girl.
