Synopsis Andesu Shonen Pepero no BokenPepero、 an Indio boy living in Tarsa Village in the Andes、 sees a shiny golden condor、 which is regarded as a messenger of God、 the day after his ten-year-old birthday when he is approved by the village codes as an adult.The condor certifies the existence of El Dorado、 which is considered to have treasures to save poor people.Pepero’s father left home to search for El Dorado seven years ago and never is heard from again since then. Pepero leaves on a trip to find his father and take him back.An amnesiac girl named Kayna、 who Pepero is acquainted with、 also goes on a trip with him. During the trip led by the golden condor showing up many times、 Pepero and Kayna are increasingly attracted to each other.In the end of the trip、 Pepero and Kayna arrive El Dorado where they meet Pepero’s father、 Carlos.They find out that Kayna is a princess of El Dorado as a matter of fact、 El Dorado is dominated by traitors and Carlos will be executed soon by the traitors for a crime he did not commit.As Pepero also finds out that the traitors try to kill Kayna、 he defeats them to save Kayna and Carlos.In this way、 Pepero saves El Dorado. As he is regarded as a boon、 he is given a secret treasure of El Dorado、 “corns which grow in every wasteland” and is approved to get engaged to beloved Kayna in spite of the difference in their social classes.Kayna will stay in the royal palace of El Dorado until reaching a marriageable age. Pepero、 after coming back to his hometown with Carlos bringing the corns、 is looking forward to the day when Kayna will come to marry him.
