Synopsis Captain FutureIn a future setting where humanity has developed an advanced civilization、 Roger Newton、 a great biologist、 secretly works on research to artificially create life、 a feat that even the technology of the age has not yet achieved.Newton has nearly completed his research、 but he becomes the target of the schemer Corvo.Immediately realizing the threat、 Newton、 his wife Elaine、 and his fellow scientist Simon—who is technically dead and now living in the form of a human brain—escape to a safe house on the moon. The Newtons soon have a son、 and name him Curtis. Around the same time、 Newton succeeds in creating the androids Grag and Otho、 and they all live peacefully in a harsh environment.Eventually、 however、 Doctor Newton and his wife Elaine are found and murdered by Corvo. After that、 Curtis is raised by Simon、 Grag、 and Otho、 learning all kinds of knowledge and abilities over the years. Now a grown man、 Curtis learns about the truth behind the death of his parents、 and decides to fight against those who abuse science、 and to maintain justice and peace in the galaxy.Curtis calls himself “Captain Future” and gets on his favorite spaceship、 the Comet、 with many of his companions、 determined to combat the great evil. This animation series was based on a novel by the American science fiction writer Edmond Hamilton、 which is known as one of the greatest works of space opera. The series was broadcast in Japan、 in line with the space science fiction trend.
