Henshin Ninja Arashi In the Edo period、 the Blood Wheel Clan、 a mysterious group of shadowy ninjas、 launches an operation to take over Japan following the orders of their leader、 Majin Sai. Hayate、 a youth who has served as Majin Sai’s right-hand man、 learns of the Blood Wheel Clan’s evil plot and decides to leave the group.He then transforms his body by a secret technique developed by his father. As Transforming Ninja Arashi、 a ninja incarnated from a hawk、 he embarks on a quest to track the movements of the Blood Wheel Clan.During Arashi’s travels、 Kasumi (played by Hiroko Hayashi) and Tsumuji、 two Iga-ryu ninja siblings、 join him. To protect Japan and destroy the ambitions of Majin Sai、 they throw themselves into a fierce struggle with the Blood Wheel Clan’s shadowy incarnation ninjas. Meanwhile、 they gradually uncover the identity of Akuma Dojin、 the leader of the Western Yokai Army who is pulling the strings behind the scenes.Produced by Toei、 Henshin Ninja Arashi aired on NET (current TV Asahi) from April 1972 to February 1973. The storyline was created by Shotaro Ishinomori、 the creator of the Kamen Rider Series. Many members from Showa-era Kamen Rider Series entries joined the production team、 including Issaku Uchida、 who served as the director、 and Masaru Igami、 who wrote the screenplay. The series was conceived as a period drama version of Kamen Rider.Kamen Rider Hibiki、 starring Shigeki Hosokawa and premiering in 2006、 included various tributes to Henshin Ninja Arashi. The leading character Hayate、 aka Transforming Ninja Arashi、 and many other characters from Henshin Ninja Arashi appear in the novel adaptation of Kamen Rider Hibiki that was later released from Kodansha Character Bunko in 2013. The novel garnered attention for depicting what happened to Transforming Ninja Arashi after Henshin Ninja Arashi、 serving as a tribute to、 and sharing a common worldview with、 the TV series.
