Synopsis The Kagestar Kageo Sugata works for a large corporation called Kazamura Conglomerate. One day、 Kageo and Suzuko Kazamura、 the daughter of the company’s president、 are kidnapped by a group of Hakuro Demons. The quick-witted Kageo manages to find a way to escape from the kidnappers、 but the two have an unfortunate accident during their escape. They suffer a high voltage electric shock and fall off a cliff. They barely survive the accident. Due to the high voltage electric shock、 they gain a special ability that enables them to merge their own minds with their shadows and transform into Kagestar and Bellestar、 shadow warriors with superhuman powers. After gaining their powers and returning、 Kageo and Suzuko realize that there are those in the company who are operating behind the scenes for their self-interests. They decide to confront the criminals who are taking advantage of this. The existence of the Satan Empire、 a mega organization that is taking advantage of the company behind the scenes、 gradually comes to light. Using the Kageboshi、 an aerial mobile fortress、 and Kagerobe、 a shadow giant、 Kageo and Suzuko stand up to destroy the ambitions of Dr. Satan、 the ruler of the Satan Empire、 and his demonic minions. The Kagestar is a tokusatsu TV series produced by Toei、 airing on NET (current TV Asahi) in April through November 1976. The series is based on the first tokusatsu production developed by Saburo Yatsude、 the collective pseudonym used by Toei Company television producers. The series garnered attention for Kageo and Suzuko’s special ability to merge their own minds with their shadows and materialize the shadows to fight enemies、 as well as for its unique dual-protagonist storyline. It was the first series directed by Takao Nagaishi、 a renowned director of Super Sentai tokusatsu productions.
